Updates to the Website
Hi Friends,
After much deliberation last year, I decided to move the website to a new server and Webhosting service.
This server is a lot faster and more stable than the previous one so andyfirthmusic.com will always be online and running 24 hours a day whenever you want to visit, listen or buy my music.
My wife Liz and I have been busy designing and creating the artwork for our new look home page so that it is much easier to read and navigate.
This page now also has both a new navigation area that takes you directly to any place on the site you wish to visit as well as a featured products slider further down the page.
This is so that you can see what’s new and perhaps find something that you didn’t see when browsing our site the last time you visited.
The colourful, vivid artwork for the site has nearly all been created by Liz and she has done a fabulous job of this throughout the site.
Anyway, on to what’s new!
Updates to the Website
1. The new look, easy to navigate Home Page: https://www.andyfirthmusic.com
The large slider shows you what I offer on my site.
As with all graphic sliders on the site, you can navigate back and forth through the images to read them by clicking on the arrow button on the right-hand/left-hand side of the slider.
2. Instantly downloadable Recordings have been added to the site.
This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time but until now, our old server wasn’t powerful or big enough to cater for this feature.
This is no longer the case and our new server handles this service effortlessly. You can now listen to samples of my recordings as well as instantly download the albums complete with artwork (when available)all in one zip file downloaded to your desktop or prefered path on your computer.
When you unzip the file (by double-clicking on it) it will reveal a folder with the tracks as named and ordered mp3 files complete with metadata about the name of the album, artist, genre, and year of release and size of each file.
This makes it a cinch to drag this folder or separate files into your iTunes or preferred mp3 application/player. All you need do then is to create a playlist and then sync it to your preferred digital device for portable listening wherever you go. Many of these albums are not available anywhere else but on this site, especially the newly created ones from 2018 to now.
3. The navigation blocks. These blocks visually depict and describe the various areas of the site. Simply click on your desired block and you’ll be instantly taken to that area of the website.
4. The new look “About Andy” page. This page now features a one-click download of my press package for easy access to my biographies (full and snapshot) as well as four pictures of me.
5. Big Band Arrangements for 18 piece, standard line-up stage band/big band have been added. This section features a selection of my big band/stage band arrangements from beginner to advanced level ensembles. There are notated samples for each arrangement as well as a full demo of each chart.
6. The Featured Product slider. This slider features the best selling as well as new products that have been added to the website. Simply click on the product image in the slider and you will be taken to that product. To jump to a specific page of the slider, just click one of the dots under the slider.
7. Videos have been removed as we found that they were using up too much space and wost customers didn’t seem to need a video performance to make a decision on what or whether to buy a product.
