About Jukebox Jump
Jukebox Jump is an arrangement in the style of the great Swing bands of the 1930s and 40s.
The melody is reminiscent of hit tunes that were made popular by the great swing era bands.
The brass uses fanned and plunger mute techniques as was popular during this time.
The saxophones are written in unison in spread or closed position voicing as was the scoring style of this era.
The arrangement is peppered with figures that elude to some of those found in the popular hit song recordings at the time.
Also featured in this arrangement are solos for the tenor sax and trombone which can be either read as written or improvised.
Step back in to the Swing Era sounds of the great big bands with this lively and catchy number.
