Geronimo’s Groove Big Band Arrangement
Geronimo’s Groove Big Band Arrangement
This fun, easy-level chart grooves from the first note to the last and features a catchy, grooving melody.
Written to suit a beginner-level big band, this chart is the perfect choice for School concerts!
The arrangement begins within an open 5th type motive followed closely by the melody played in unison by the saxes.
An open solo section based on a 12-bar blues follows to give the players a chance to show off their improvisation skills.
Written solos: Alto Sax and Trombone.
The brass then introduces a short bridge section before the saxes re-enter with the melody again.
This leads to a short coda section to finish the arrangement.
This arrangement is sure to be a hit with your players and audiences for years to come!
Ranges are kept to a playable range both in brass and saxes.
Technical and Ranges: Tpt 1: A above stave. Trombone 1: G above the stave. 4th Trombone: Playable on tenor trombone.
Easy technical and rhythmic difficulty. Mostly quavers only.
Soloists: Written/Improvised: Alto 1 and Trombone 1 but can be opened for other soloists (“C” 12 bar blues format)
