This beginner-level chart will bring a taste of Mexico into your band.
Featuring a catchy melody and simple harmonic structures, this chart is relatively easy to perform and is sure to delight your audience.
The saxes state the catchy melody first in unison and then closed-position harmony.
The brass then takes the bridge before returning the melody to the saxes.
A short interlude played by the brass leads to the saxes re-stating the melody once more.
A swing version of the theme ensues shortly afterwards leading to the final statement of the theme in the brass with the final statement passing between the saxes, trombones and finally, the trumpets.
The arrangement ends with the iconic “cha-cha-cha!” phrase often used in Latin American music of the Twentieth Century.
