About Think Pink!
Think Pink! Is inspired by Henry Mancini’s classic “Theme to the Pink Panther” using all of the same instrumental textures to create this new sound-a-like work.
The melody and backing figures are scored in the spirit of Mancini’s but are not the same even though they feel and sound like the original.
Even the written tenor solo is in the style of the Mancini’s tenor soloist, Plas Johnson but it is not a transcription of his solo. This solo may be improvised if preferred.
The brass parts have been scored to sound full and powerful without being out of range for less experienced players with the highest trumpet note a C#3 and the lead trombone a G3.
This arrangement is guaranteed to be a hit with listeners and audiences of all ages!
