About A Big Band Tribute to Australia.
This arrangement features the Australian folk tunes “Waltzing Matilda”, “Click Go The Shears” and “Botany Bay” as well as the beautiful ballad,“Australia, My Home” by Andy Firth. The arrangement begins with the swinging rendition of the Australian folk song Waltzing Matilda. This then leads to go in the shares scored in a lively rock feel and featuring the trombones.
Following this, “Australia, My Home” featuring trumpet 1 with the bridge section played by closed position trombone section. After a semi-tone modulation the band states the final chorus with a fanfare like modulation to a swinging styled version of “Botany Bay”. The arrangement then ends as it began with a full band reprise of “Waltzing Matilda”.
